About Dot to Dot
Dot to Dot: Pediatric Speech Language Therapy LLC is a private practice dedicated to ensuring a "whole" child approach to speech-language therapy services.
I recognize that speech and language development does not occur in isolation of other medical, developmental, and environmental factors and utilize a creative, energetic, and playful therapeutic style to engage the children I work with and address their individualized goals effectively and efficiently.
With a deep understanding and respect for all of the sensory and motor systems that contribute to each child’s strengths and weaknesses, speech language therapy can be successful in supporting the functional performance of a child across settings and contexts. I have found great success in designing therapeutic activities that integrate all sensory and motor systems along with communication targets.
Office, school, home based, and virtual speech language therapy services are designed to support all aspects of communication functioning including those associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD), Developmental Apraxia of Speech, Gestalt Language Processors, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Central Auditory Processing Disorder (CAPD), Specific Language Impairment (SLI), Social Pragmatic Difficulties, Receptive and/or Expressive Language Disorders, Speech/Articulation Disorders, Fluency Disorders, Voice Disorders.
Services are individualized and a variety of strategies from different therapeutic approaches and models are integrated into sessions, including
-
The Greenspan Floortime Approach™ and DIR® Model
-
Relationship Development Intervention (RDI™)
-
The SCERTS© Model
-
Sensory based supports
-
Dr. Ross Greene’s Collaborative & Proactive Solutions Model
In addition to the above, I am a Certified ChildLight Yoga® Instructor and incorporate yoga, breath work, mindfulness, and movement strategies in sessions.
Collaboration between a child’s educational and therapeutic team is essential to success and Dot to Dot guides and supports these interactions.

My passion is in the play! I love the challenges that come along with individualizing a program for each child and finding activities and materials that inspire the child, the family and me. The "work" of childhood is all about exploration, hands on experiences, trial and error, moving and grooving! I take pride in my unique approach to speech-language therapy services and in recognizing the influences of the "whole" child on their targets and progress within sessions.
My private practice evolved out of a desire to be able to truly meet the constantly changing needs of each student and family. I strive to offer flexibility in my programming in order to maximize speech language therapy opportunities for all families. The duration, frequency, and design of each individual's speech language therapy is unique.
Over the past 25+ years I have had wonderful opportunities to serve a wide variety of children in all types of settings. My experiences have allowed me to collaborate with a range of professionals including pediatricians, neurologists, neuropsychologists, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and classroom teachers. I have enjoyed presenting at conferences, publishing an article, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and creating a variety of therapeutic activities to support my clients’ growth and development.
I am certified by the Virginia Board of Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
